Why We Provide This Service

This service is offered to help people become more independent. W2W helps to reduce the disadvantage and isolation that some groups of people may experience when living in rural communities and consequently creates a more cohesive society. It also offers the following:

A safe mode of transport as all the training, insurance, breakdown cover, equipment and ongoing maintenance is provided by the schemes.
It signposts other public, private and community transport schemes available in the area and only loans the moped as a 'last' resort.
It is an environmentally friendly transport solution as mopeds have lower emissions and consume less fuel than cars, cause less wear and tear on roads and less road congestion and ease the problems with car parking.
Increase individuals accessing employment opportunities - (W2W supported 627 people into employment from across the region in 2006-2007 with the support of Advantage West Midlands funding).
Increase individuals accessing training opportunities.
To develop individual's life and social skills.
